Welcome!

The Aeolian Singers are Hemel Hempstead
(Hertfordshire)’s largest mixed voice chorus,
a welcoming group of around 80 members, making music in the town and in London’s
major concert halls since 1963. |
We perform a wide range of choral music, from Bach to Lloyd Webber. We've
sung abroad in such places as Ghent, Paris, Provence and
Mannheim. In the last few seasons we have sung
in St Albans, Stratford-upon-Avon, High Wycombe as well as in our home town of
Hemel Hempstead. |
| |
We've had the pleasure of working with Arlene Sierra, an emerging young composer,
who created a piece for the Aeolians and Longdean School Choir and
we've had the privilege of premiering "The
Nativity", a cantata by our President, Peter
Skellern, who is an established composer. In May 2009,
Peter gave a workshop in St John's Church, Boxmoor
attended by more than a hundred singers. See
details of our Summer Serenade on 5th July |
Highlights
of the last two seasons were visits to Mannheim and Provence. |
| |
We’re delighted to welcome new
members and are keen to help young members. You can try us out for a few
rehearsals to see if you would like to join. |
